IBS is a common ‘label’ given by Doctors when more sinister things are ruled out. The treatment offered varies from prescribed medication to food exclusion. These methods are not always effective and their benefits are often short term. To keep us safe nature has a flight or fight mechanism to keep us safe, although in today’s modern life style we don’t often use it. When we get nervous or stressed we can often experience butterflies in out tummy’s or perhaps an urgent need to go to the toilet. The connection between or minds and our bodies is very strong and not to be ignored. There has been extensive research into the link between the mind and body and the debilitating, symptoms of IBS.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) – has recognised hypnotherapy as a possible treatment for IBS in those who haven’t responded to other treatments
BUPPA – Treatments such as psychotherapy and hypnosis have also been shown to be effective for managing symptoms of IBS in the short and long term.
I work with you on a one to one basis to understand your own unique triggers, and stresses. I use hypnosis and NLP techniques to relax your mind and body with the goal of you being free of your IBS symptoms without the use of medication. Hypnosis is a relaxing therapy. Contrary to many beliefs you will not do anything that you don’t want to do under hypnosis. You are typically aware of what happens during the session.
